Incoming Water Treatment – Reverse Osmosis Units

Using softened water for CNC coolant emulsions offers several benefits:

1.Reduced Scaling: Softened water helps prevent mineral buildup and scaling in coolant systems, minimizing the risk of clogs and blockages in CNC machinery.

2.Extended Equipment Lifespan: By reducing scale and mineral deposits, softened water helps prolong the lifespan of CNC equipment, including pumps, pipes, and coolant reservoirs, minimizing maintenance costs and downtime.

3.Improved Cooling Efficiency: Softened water enhances the efficiency of heat transfer in coolant systems, ensuring optimal cooling of CNC machinery. This can result in more consistent machining performance and improved part quality.

The main advantages of a reverse osmosis system are essentially:

  • Simple and safe construction and operation.

  • No interruptions for regeneration.
  • No use of caustic soda (NaOH) and hydrochloric acid (HCl) for resin regeneration.
  • No need for wastewater treatment, thus total absence of treatment plants.

LUBRISERV WRO Range:

WRO series systems are compact and pre-assembled on a tubular stainless steel frame, complete with double cartridge pre-filtration inside plastic filter containers, a high-pressure pump with brass pallets, a minimum pressure switch, and an electrical panel for fully automatic operation controlled by a magnetic float level sensor.

For reverse osmosis plant models WRO 20, 30, 50, calculate a power consumption of 0.25 kW, while for models WRO 70, 140, and WRO 200, calculate a power consumption of 0.57 kW.

Only for models WRO 70, 140, 200, we recommend adding a pair of flow meters.

Construction Features:

The MINI series reverse osmosis plants are the result of careful selection of components and functional and reliable technical solutions. The main components of the plant are:

  • 2.5” spiral-wound osmotic membranes (for models 80).
  • 4” spiral-wound osmotic membranes (for models 200/400).
  • Vessel in AISI 316L.
  • High-pressure stainless steel vane-type pump.
  • Micron cartridge filters in polycarbonate (filtration grade 20μ and 5μ).
  • Direct reading flowmeter for measuring the flow rate of concentrate and permeate.
  • Micrometric regulation needle valves placed on the concentrate and recirculation lines.
  • Low-pressure lines.
  • High-pressure lines.
  • Microprocessor logic controller for automatic plant management with permeate conductivity threshold indicator and system status LEDs.
  • Power supply panel for high-pressure pumps, microprocessor, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Minimum pressure switch for dry run protection.
  • Maximum pressure switch for maximum pressure control on membrane feed.
  • PE tank model TC2 volume 200 liters, dimensions 500x500x1600 for MINIOSMO80 model.

All components are mounted on the storage tank complete with hydraulic and electrical connections
