LUBRISERV Swarf Compactors for metal swarf can provide additional revenue from briquettes against loose swarf. Low residual moisture content and reduced freight costs – volume can be reduced to as little as 1/10. Coolants and cutting oils can be recovered whilst storage and disposal cost can be significantly reduced, alongside a significant lowering of fire and explosion risks.
With over 800 units in operation across Europe you can be confident in the reliability and performance of these machines. Our compactors can handle both chipped and stringy swarf – small units processing from just 20L/hour to larger systems processing up to 1200L/h (dependent on material type). Metal turnings and chips from machining operations are reduced in volume, dramatically reducing storage space, by up to 80%. The result is more room for production, easier handling and lower transport costs. The compacted metal can be sold to your scrap processor or broker usually for a higher value than loose swarf as the compaction process squeezes most of the cutting fluids from the swarf. The fluid is collected in a built in storage tank. The compactors are controlled via a PLC and touchscreen panel.

The centralised swarf compacting machines allow loading by tipping swarf bins in manually. The reduction of the volume of metal shavings follows the same process as the stand alone compactors, but enables large volumes of chipped or stringy swarf to be loaded in bulk.
Our continuous load (under conveyor) range of swarf compactors provide a great way to deal with the swarf (chipped and stringy) at source. Reducing the volume significantly allows lights out running without fear of overfilling swarf bins or blocking machine conveyors. The coolant is immediately returned to the coolant tank on your machine so reducing top up requirement and lowering consumption.
All the machines are equipped with a tank for collecting the waste liquid and a drain pump. The machines are electrically operated with a PLC and a touch screen and can be linked for remote control and monitoring from a desktop computer.
Usually the non ferrous metals have the quickest payback so it is well worth considering if you have a significant amount of aluminium, copper, brass, alu bronze or lead.

The basic gained by swarf briquetting is the conversion of low density chips to a solid briquette. This gives important advantages for consumers of chips – better melting economy, less burn-off loss and simpler chip handling.
Briquetting of swarf and grinding fines can reduce a significant negative environmental impact as the products can be brought back in a closed cycle for reuse.
Lubriserv have swarf briquetters for capacities up to 800 kg/hour for steel swarf and 200 kg/ hour for aluminium swarf. The compacting pressure can be over 700 bar and the motor power from as low as 3kW up to 15 kW. A major benefit of Jvonne compactors over competitor machines is their ability to handle stringy swarf without the need for pre processing through a shredder.
Lubriserv is a well established company dedicated to improving metalworking processes. With over 100 years of combined staff experience in the lubricants business, Lubriserv has proven to be a world-class supplier of metalworking lubricants, equipment and service for manufacturers.
